In Austria, Bavaria, South Tyrol and other parts of the Alpine region, Krampus commonly appears within winter traditions connected to Saint Nicholas. The exact appearance, role, event format, and Krampus costume vary by region, community and group.
That means there is no single costume that represents every Krampus tradition.
